-Ras Pechuel – Campaign Coordinator
I’m -Ras, and I will take on the role of campaign coordinator. I have a background in IT and I used to work in the gaming industry. I spent a few years working for Wizards of the Coast and I’ve had a lot of exposure to role-playing games and creating interesting events. A few years ago I started my own company which develops new approaches to education, such as serious games.
I’ve been an avid gamer for many years, I love role-playing games, and I also write fantasy novels. I love new challenges and new ideas and I have always introduced new role-playing formats to conventions. I’m very interested in creating a new type of experience with the Iceland event and I’m looking forward to combining everyone's creativity.
Mario Weißkopf – German Coordinator
My name is Mario Weißkopf, 26 years, studying business engineering at the RWTH-Aachen and I´m working fot the Center for Learning and Knowledge Management of the RWTH-Aachen. In this context I'm involved in other EU proposals as well as in international consulting assignments.
Now to the interesting part: I started my roleplay-career at the age of 13. Together with Armin and some other friends we started our first roleplaying-group using the D&D 3.0 rule system. Since then i mastered many roleplaying rounds and was part in some more. I always tried to involve new poeple which lead sometimes to quite big roleplaying groups (8-13 players). 3 Years ago I organized our first roleplay event for 5 days with 3 game masters and 13 players which continues on an annual basis.
I´m very happy that this project was approved and I´m gladly looking foward to meet all of you and have some fun together!
Vigdís Fríða Þorvaldsdóttir – Icelandic Coordinator
My name is Vigdís Fríða and I live in a town in Iceland called Selfoss. I have a lot of different interests and I work at a youth house in my town. One of the things I do there is to hold together a group of people that like Magic the gathering. I really love meeting new people and doing something new and exiting so Im really looking forward to meet everyone!
Yannis Psychogiopoulos – Greek Coordinator
My name is Yannis Psychogiopoulos. I am 31 years old and I live in Greece. I have been working at a consultancy for 8 years and playing rpgs consistently since year 2000. Most games I have played are d&d or similar. I have tried several systems and settings. As a player, I like plot twists, character inner conflicts and games where the GM leaves space for creativity to players. As a GM, I like creating non-linear plots, introducing my own characters in my stories, collaborating with players to reach a decision when a possibility is not easily found in the system rules and providing a framework of basic rules to my players regarding how I run my sessions to avoid loss of time in endless, pointless discussions.
Nick Mantasas – Game Director
Hey everyone, i am Nick i have a degree in engineering and i am currently working as a Recycle Inspector in TuV. I have been playing RPG's almost 15 years now, initially with DnD 2nd edition followed by 3rd,4th, pathfinder, WoD and Cthulhu mostly. I love reading new games and settings even if i don't have the opportunity to test em out (Dread, paranoia, the one ring and so on) and i just love freedom in my games.Players being able to tell their story, me being there just to record it :P As a player i like to put my character to the test, either in combat or social interactions.
Sigurður Ingi – Game Director
Hello my name is Sigurður Ingi, usually called Siggi/ Ziggy (if that is easier to pronounce), I live in a town called Selfoss where I work in a youth house. I am a gamer in every sense of the phrase. I play videogames, boardgames and RPG's and having been doing so since I was about 8 years old. I am the gamemaster in the roleplay club in my youth house and I also take care of clubs of socially awkward teenage boys(age 14-16) and try to help them work on those issues by doing stuff both of the nerd variety and try to get them to do new things that require social interactions. Just as a side note I am a crusader to make the word "Nerd" a good word and am always the first to label myself as one, "I am Icelands biggest nerd untill someone finds one bigger than me". I am really looking foward to the event and to meet all of you.
Armin Osmanagic – Game Director
my name is Armin, I am 26 years old and I'm a medical student at RWTH Aachen University. At the age of around 13 I started role-playing and haven't stopped yet. Mostly D&D as well as a little "Das schwarze Auge" (quite popular in Germany). I have played D&D as a dungeon master and player in homebrewn as well as commercially published campaigns. Besides role-playing I enjoy rock climbing and mountain biking. I am also volunteering as a climbing instructor for a group of kids aged 12-15 and I am working at a Skillslab for medical education.
